deVere Group Malta Raises £72,030 for Charity

The deVere Group, the world's largest independent financial consultancy group has raised £72,030 in funds towards Combat Stress, Guillain-Barre syndrome support group, as well as Inspire, from world-wide sponsors including deVere partners and deVere staff.

The deVere Group Malta team, which included deVere CEO Nigel Green, James Green, Hannah Green, Maria Stivala, Nadia Micallef and Svetlana Falzon, has successfully completed the 2011 Land Rover Malta Half Marathon on Sunday 27th February 2011, in a mission to raise funds towards four international charities.

The proceeds are going towards Combat Stress, a charity dedicated for treatment and support to ex-Service men and women with conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety disorders; Guillain-Barre syndrome support group which offers support for victims of the diagnoses that causes severe nerve weakness in the body, and Inspire, a foundation in Malta dedicated for social inclusion of adults and children with learning disabilities.

In addition, as part of its continuous support towards Alex Flynn who is on a mission to raise over £1 million, in the hope of finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease, deVere is also allocating £10,000 of the funds towards Alex Flynn’s Ten Million Meters challenge.

Remarkably, one of the runners, Hannah Green was paralysed from Guillain-Barre Syndrome just over 7 months ago. She successfully completed the 13-mile (21Km) Malta half marathon in pursuit of raising funds for the support group, to be available for others in the same way it was for her.
