Cueman Joins AXIS as Head of Construction – US

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, January 8, 2024 - AXIS Capital Holdings Limited ("AXIS Capital" or "AXIS" or the "Company") (NYSE: AXS) today announced the appointment of Mike Cueman as Head of Construction - US.

In this newly created role, Mr. Cueman will lead the Company's entry into the domestic US construction market as AXIS continues to elevate and grow its underwriting capabilities and footprint through the development of new specialty insurance solutions tailored to customers' specific needs.

Mr. Cueman will be responsible for establishing a strong trading presence for our launch and profitable growth in the Construction Physical Damage market segment (Builders Risk) in the US.

As a key member of the Global Markets construction team at AXIS, Mr. Cueman will report directly to Global Head of Construction Steve Cross, and via a matrixed structure to Michael McKenna, Head of North America. He will be based in New York.

With more than 20 years of underwriting and leadership experience, Mr. Cueman brings deep specialty insurance expertise to AXIS. He joins the Company from Liberty Mutual Insurance where he was Vice President. Prior to joining Liberty, he held senior underwriting and management roles at Zurich North America within the construction, engineering, and inland marine divisions.
