Central Texas Seniors Defying The Odds Featured On 2019 “Austin 60 Strong” Calendar

PR Newswire

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Twelve Central Texas residents in their sixties have been chosen to be featured on the exclusive Austin 60 Strong 2019 calendar that highlights events and activities around Austin, and serves as a roadmap to good health. A panel of Austin celebrity judges selected the 60 Strong Ambassadors because they exemplify how life after sixty can be a positive, vibrant and active time. They will make their first appearances at free Medicare expos on October 27, 30 and November 1 where Medicare insurance experts will provide an overview of Medicare Advantage Plans, including specific benefits for each plan.

Austin 60 Strong Winners to Appear at Medicare Expos

Expos are scheduled as follows:

  • Saturday, October 27, 9-3pm
    Allen R. Baca Senior Center
    301 W Bagdad Ave # 2

    Southwest Medical Village
    5625 Eiger Rd, Suite 200
    Austin, TX
  • Thursday, November 1, 4-10pm
    Norris Center
2525 West Anderson Lane, Suite 365
    Austin, TX

At the Medicare Shop and Compare Expos the following Austin 60 Strong Ambassadors will sign copies of the 2019 calendar in which they are prominently featured:

  • Ben Barlin, Austin
  • Toni Bourke, Austin
  • Dave Corna, Round Rock
  • Kim Cousins, Austin
  • Shelley Friend, Austin
  • Dan Garrett, Buda
  • Mike Gassaway, Elgin

  • Susan Mobley, Austin
  • Grace Perez, Austin
  • Miriam Raviv, Austin

The Austin 60 Strong calendars will be available for purchase online at austin60strong.com beginning October 30. The cost is $15 for each calendar and all online sales will benefit Capital City Village, a nonprofit program for aging seniors that allows them to be cared for at home and in their communities.

Austin 60 Strong is a celebration of grit and resilience, sponsored by Central Texas physician groups—Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) and Premier Family Physicians—joining together to form Connected Senior Care Advantage, a new program based on the groups' shared vision that seamless and greater coordination of care is required to optimally care for their senior patients. Connected Senior Care is designed to keep Central Texas seniors active and help them navigate the complexities of Medicare coverage and other healthcare decisions, which is why the calendar will include important timeline information regarding Medicare signup deadlines.
