American Property Casualty Insurance Association Issues Statement on Legislative, Budget Process Hearing

CHICAGO, Illinois, Sept. 25 -- The American Property Casualty Insurance Association issued the following statement by Tom Santos, department vice president of research, in support of the House Rules subcommittees on Legislative and Budget Process hearing entitled "Building Resilient Communities for America's Future":
"Property casualty insurers stand ready to work with policymakers and consumers to bridge the insurance gap and build a resilient infrastructure and help communities recover quickly after disaster strikes.
"We have seen the destructive power of severe weather, and it is painfully clear that we must do more to prepare for it.
"This is an important hearing and we look forward to participating in future discussions and efforts to offer solutions and strengthen the nation's resiliency and implement effective mitigation projects."
