"For every parent in Pacific County; for every mature resident or expectant mother who receives regular checkups; the decision by Premera to continue to provide health care coverage in Astoria can literally mean the difference between life and death," Jaime said. "An hour and a half drive to see a cardiologist or ob/gyn is substandard health care for anyone, and I share the feeling of relief with many residents that my calls for action were heeded and folks in the southern portion of Pacific County can continue to access care close to home."
