WSSA Launches New Website for Wine and Spirits Importers and Distributors

The Wine and Spirits Shippers Association (WSSA) Announces the Launch of its New Website atwww.wssa.com.

(PRWEB) October 13, 2010 -- The Wine and Spirits Shippers Association (WSSA) announces the launch of its new website at www.wssa.com. The website is designed to engage WSSA members and build new member support for the association’s global transportation services, which include complete logistics management and a comprehensive marine insurance program for wine and spirits importers and distributors.

“This website reflects the commitment we make every day to making the global marketplace possible for our members, by providing efficient and economical transportation by land, sea, and air,” explained Geoff Giovanetti, Managing Director of WSSA.

Founded by the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) and the National Association of Beverage Importers (NABI) in 1976 as a shipping cooperative, WSSA now serves as a not-for-profit shippers’ association that uses combined member buying power to negotiate shipping contracts on behalf of importers and distributors.

Combining the total volume of its member shipments enables the association to deliver preferential rates and service from each of its carriers and vendors to WSSA’s member base. These rates, in turn, create opportunities for members to compete on a global scale in the wine and spirits marketplace.
WSSA has over 600 member companies who import on the wholesale level from all over the world. Its global footprint spans across all five continents and the association maintains strategically-located freight forwarding partnerships near the world’s busiest ports.

Members also benefit from WSSA’s comprehensive marine insurance program which covers wine and spirit shipments by sea, land, and air from anywhere in the world. WSSA handles most needs its members have including, Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments for new-to-market test products, rush shipments, reefer containers, etc. In addition, WSSA maintains a network of service providers in brokerage and warehousing, along with ocean, air, rail, and trucking transportation. The association makes international wine and spirits shipping possible, both financially and logistically.

The newly redesigned website contains essential industry tools and resources, including the ability to request quotes online, an exchange rate converter, weight and measurement converter, global temperature readings, an industry blog, and tools to help members operate their import businesses more efficiently. New members can find information on the benefits of joining WSSA and can enroll online.

WSSA membership is open to licensed importers of wine, spirits, beer, and other select beverages.
