CORTICON Technologies Version 4.3 Release

Major Business Rules Platform Upgrade, Including New Cloud Deployment Option

Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2010 -- Corticon, the innovation leader in Business Rules Engines and Business Rules Management Systems software, announced today the immediate availability of Corticon 4.3. Corticon 4.3, the latest release and a major upgrade to its namesake Business Rules Management System (BRMS), provides numerous performance, usability, and integration enhancements. Furthermore, Corticon 4.3 provides the industry-first cloud deployment option for a business rules engine: Corticon RulesCloud, now available in Beta.

Fast, Faster, Fastest Rules Engine on the Market

With its patented Design-time Inference Engine (DeTI), Corticon already led the pack in performance. Corticon 4.3 further accelerates, with a 30% performance improvement in the Java engine, and a 60% improvement in the .NET engine (compared to prior releases on identical processors). This enables customers to tackle the most demanding applications, including data-intensive processing that take traditional rule engines to their knees.

Easier Rules Modeling & Deployment

Already recognized as “breakthrough” for ease-of-use, Corticon 4.3 continues to set the standard with a number of new features, including improved visualization of execution diagrams, enhanced reporting, and numerous usability improvements. Most significantly, Corticon 4.3 provides a new Server Console, which both improves the rules deployment process, and provides easier monitoring and maintenance of production assets. These usability features save precious time in development and maintenance.

Improved .NET Integration Options

With version 4.0, Corticon released the first model-once, deploy anywhere rules engine, which offered native deployment into both Java and .NET server environments. Based on great feedback from the customer base, Corticon has expanded the .NET integration options to including support for Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), in addition to Windows ASMX. WCF provides enhanced SOA support with guaranteed message delivery, transaction support, and WS-* standards support. In addition, Corticon 4.3 now offers deployment into in-process .NET environments, passing either XML or native .NET object payloads.

Expanded Database Support

The Corticon Enterprise Data Connector offers a powerful way to connect the rules engine directly to back end data sources, enabling automatic query generation based on business rules. Corticon 4.3 expands the supported databases to include Teradata, as well as the latest versions of Oracle, IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server.

Windows 7 Support

With version 4.3, Corticon Studio now supports Windows 7, in addition to Windows XP and Vista.

Business Rules Engine in the Cloud

Corticon RulesCloud, Corticon’s new cloud offering, now available in Beta, offers customers the option of using Corticon’s best-of-breed business rules engine without the need for on-premise software. RulesCloud, hosted on Amazon EC2, is optimized for integration with Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings, such as Appian, Concur, NetSuite, Salesforce.com, and Taleo. RulesCloud enables SaaS applications to be extended with a powerful rules engine, enabling the addition of sophisticated decision-making functions with minimal development effort. This includes scoring, pricing, calculations, validations and other rules-driven functions that enforce regulation or best practice.
"Corticon 4.3 adds a number of new features to a proven, mature product line," said Pedram Abrari, co-founder and CTO of Corticon Technologies. “Based on a lot of great customer feedback, we hope that these features help our customers gain greater value from their investment in Corticon."
