States News Service
The following information was released by the Iowa Democratic Party:
Laura Belin: "I Do Not Remember Ashley Hinson Running On [Banning Congressional Stock Trading]"
DES MOINES Ashley Hinson is getting called out for lying in her Senate campaign's first TV ad by claiming to lower health insurance costs, support veterans, and banning stock trading in Congress. The truth is, Hinson has a long history of doing the exact opposite.
Listen to What They're Saying:
KHOI's Capitol Week:
Laura Belin: "I do not remember Ashley Hinson running on [banning Congressional stock trading]. To my knowledge, she hasn't co-sponsored bills on banning stock trading, particularly before this year [] I also think it's very interesting to me that she's talking about the big corporations, like the big health care companies ripping you off. I feel like that is an attempt to insulate her from the attacks that are coming [] related to those healthcare cuts in that big budget reconciliation bill and the fact that the Republican Congress let those health insurance premium subsidies for the Affordable Care Act expire"
