Upper Tyrone supervisors agree to loan for authority [The Daily Courier, Connellsville, Pa.]

Aug. 17--Upper Tyrone supervisors have agreed to take out a revolving line of credit loan on behalf of the Upper Tyrone Township Sewage Authority.

A resolution was passed guaranteeing payment of a promissory note to the Scottdale Bank and Trust for a revolving line of credit.

Supervisor Bill Edwards said the new loan would be for $150,000. This would allow the authority to pay off the original line of credit loan and then have about $80,000 to work with until they can obtain funding for their project, which would bring public sewage to a majority of township residents.

Supervisors also passed a resolution to adopt the Fayette County 2011 Hazard Mitigation Plan and a motion to renew the township's property, general, automobile and liability insurance coverage with American Alternative Insurance Corporation at an annual cost of $6,247.

Also, supervisors passed a motion to hire Jake Whipkey as a part-time interim laborer, retroactive and effective Aug. 7, with the rate set at $11 per hour. Edwards said the action was necessary due to the immediate vacancy of a skilled laborer.

They also agreed to advertise for the position of a part-time laborer. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 14. The pay rate will be considered based on qualifications.

Finally, a motion was approved to change the Sept. 11 regular meeting date to 5:30 p.m.Sept. 19.
