JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 25 -- The Mississippi Attorney General issued the following news release:

Two Clinton women have been arrested on multiple counts of insurance fraud, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

Twin sisters, Diane and Dinah Haralson have been arrested by Public Integrity Division of the Attorney General's Office, Insurance Fraud Unit, following indictment on multiple counts of insurance fraud.

Diane Haralson, of Glendale Street in Clinton has been charged with two counts of insurance fraud for allegedly filing fraudulent medical records and insurance claim forms in order to receive benefits for injuries she suffered following an automobile accident which she was reportedly involved in September 2008 and a bicycle accident she was reportedly involved in April 2009.

Dinah Haralson of Glendale Street, Clinton, MS has been charged in two separate indictments with twelve counts of insurance fraud. Her charges also stem from allegedly filing fraudulent medical records and insurance claim forms she submitted for herself and her daughter in an attempt to receive insurance benefits. The records she filed are all alleged to have occurred between March 2007 and May 2010. Among the charges, Dinah Haralson is accused of filing false records on behalf of her daughter for injuries reportedly received from a bicycle accident in January 2008 and in September 2008, for a skating accident in March 2008 and for an automobile accident in April 2009. Additionally, Dinah Haralson claimed to have received severe burns while cooking in March 2007, to have had a bicycle wreck in February 2008, to have fallen down a set of stairs in April 2008 and to have had automobile accidents in August 2008 and April 2009.

The sisters were booked into the Hinds County Jail. A trial date has not yet been set. If convicted, both women face up to five years in jail and a $5,000 fine for each count.

The case was investigated and will be prosecuted by the Public Integrity Division of the Attorney General's Office.

As with all cases, the charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
