Transamerica Worksite Marketing Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer

Industry Veteran John Stanley Will Lead Sales Growth Initiatives and New Business Development

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Transamerica Worksite Marketing today announced the hiring of John T. Stanley as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, effective immediately. Stanley will report directly to company President Randy Clarkson.

In his new role, Stanley will develop and execute current and new marketing strategies to promote the company’s portfolio of life and supplemental health insurance products to institutional markets. He will also direct TWM’S cross-selling opportunities amongst other AEGON divisions and their distribution channels.

“John’s diverse background and entrepreneurial experience make him uniquely qualified to bring a laser-like focus to expanding our sales and drive the development and execution of our marketing strategies,” Clarkson said. “This is a big day for our company. I look forward to having an 18-year industry veteran with his broad background leading our business development and marketing efforts.”

Along with the recent appointment of Brad Ridnour to the senior leadership team as National Sales Director, Stanley’s hiring provides a solid foundation for Transamerica’s Worksite Marketing division to build on its reputation as an industry leader.

“We are now perfectly positioned for rapid sales growth through initiative, product knowledge, market awareness and our strong relationships in the industry,” said Clarkson.

Stanley has nearly two decades of sales and marketing management experience and is recognized as an inspirational team and consensus builder, strategic planner, and motivational leader. Most recently, he served as Practice Leader for Chicago-based Innotech Benefits Solutions, where he led new business development and fostered strategic partnerships with key national consulting firms and direct clients.

Stanley began his career with UNUM Provident Companies in 1993, where he developed and drove new sales initiatives and was a multimillion-dollar sales generator for the Chattanooga, Tenn., insurer.

“I have worked with the top consultants in the industry and it is clear that the integration of voluntary benefits and communication services are now a major component in their value proposition to customers and prospects,” said Stanley. “Transamerica is a sleeping giant within the worksite industry, and is the best positioned company to help employers and their advisors address the needs of their employees, while continuing to address increasing health care costs.”

“I am excited to be a part of a senior leadership team that is focused on market driven product and service solutions, growth, attracting the best talent in the industry, and building sustained distribution partnerships,” he said.

Stanley earned his Bachelor of Arts in government from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. He also completed the prestigious Executive Management Education program at Stanford University, an extensive leadership training course for senior executives at global companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Transamerica companies have been helping people create better futures for over a century. The Transamerica Worksite Marketing is a division of Transamerica Life Insurance Company (CedarRapids, IA) that designs and markets voluntary group life and supplemental health insurance products.
