Theft, assault cases resolved in Cheshire County Superior Court

The Keene Sentinel, N.H.
By The Keene Sentinel, N.H.
McClatchy-Tribune Information Services

Oct. 14--Several criminal cases, ranging from theft to assault to drug offenses, were resolved recently in Cheshire County Superior Court in Keene.

They include:

Richard J. Collins Jr., 49, of Bridgeport, Conn., was sentenced to 12 months in jail and fined $1,000 plus court fees, all suspended, after pleading guilty to theft. He was also ordered to tour the N.H. State Prison or the Connecticut State Prison and undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations.

An additional charge of forgery was dismissed by prosecutors.

Collins forged a check for $1,000 at TD Bank in Keene on June 24.

Kellie Eddy, 26, of Winchester was sentenced to seven days in jail for violating her probation from a Nov. 25, 2013, conviction for possessing Oxycontin. Court documents don't detail how she violated her probation.

Amanda Dodge, 28, of Keene was sentenced to 12 months at the Cheshire County jail for theft. All of the sentence is suspended upon good behavior.

Dodge's sentence is consecutive to a district court sentence she is serving for theft, according to court documents. She was placed on probation for three years upon release from her electronic monitoring sentence from the district court conviction.

Dodge is also ordered to pay restitution of $9,268.87: $1,000 to Miltner's Shoes Inc. and $8,268.87 to the Hanover Insurance Group.

An additional charge of tampering with private records was dismissed by prosecutors.

Nealon Brown, 38, of Winchester was sentenced to one to three years in N.H. State Prison after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property. All of the sentence was suspended, except 40 days served while awaiting resolution of the case.

Brown was placed on probation for one year and ordered, along with two other people, to pay restitution of $1,100. He is also ordered to have no contact with the victims.

He had a stolen snowblower in December, and has two previous theft convictions, according to court documents.

Rene Hammond, 46, of Sullivan was sentenced to six months in jail, all suspended, for misdemeanor theft and was ordered to make restitution of $1,170.35 to TD Bank and ordered to tour the county jail.

Hammond wrote checks from her dead mother's bank account, according to court records.

Four charges of forgery were dismissed by the prosecution.

Charges of criminal contempt and attempted simple assault against Christopher Mackey, 20, of Keene were remanded to 8th Circuit Court District Division in Keene. Another charge of simple assault against Mackey was dismissed by prosecutors.

Kathleen Whitcomb, 35, of Acworth was sentenced to 12 months in jail, all suspended, for passing a false prescription. All of the sentence was suspended.

Whitcomb was placed on probation for three years and fined $350 plus court fees, all suspended.

Whitcomb was also ordered to participate in substance abuse treatment and counseling. If in three years she has successfully completed the treatment and has been on good behavior, the state will reduce her conviction to a class A misdemeanor, according to court documents.

Two additional charges of uttering a forged prescription were dismissed by prosecutors. Whitcomb admitted forging a prescription for oxycodone and passing it at Walgreens pharmacy in Walpole in April, according to court documents.

Two charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault against Thaddeus Davulis, 36, of Dublin were dismissed by prosecutors.

Two charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault against Scott Hill, 48, of Keene were dismissed by prosecutors.

Two counts of second-degree domestic assault against Sean Murrin, 24, of Swanzey were dismissed by prosecutors.
