Man sentenced to jail for role in Rindge burglary

Oct. 14--A Massachusetts man convicted of burglarizing a Rindge home last year has been sentenced to one year in jail.

Jared J. Kot, 26, of Leominster, Mass., must also pay nearly $4,000 in restitution to the homeowner and her insurance company.

Kot recently pleaded guilty in Cheshire County Superior Court in Keene to one count of burglary for breaking into the home at 564 Old New Ipswich Road in Rindge on June 21, 2013.

Upon his release from the Cheshire County jail in Keene, Kot will serve two years probation.

Judge John C. Kissinger Jr. also ordered Kot to have no contact with the Rindge homeowner, Amy A. Reisert.

Kot and Talon Facteau were convicted of stealing thousands of dollars in cash, credit cards and checks, as well as electronics from the residence, according to Assistant Cheshire County Attorney John M. Gasaway Jr., who prosecuted the case.

Much of the property was recovered about a week or two later, Gasaway told the court last week.

Attorneys said Kot received a lighter sentence than Facteau did last month given their varied criminal backgrounds, culpability in this case, and other factors learned during the court process. Both cases were settled through plea deals.

Facteau, 24, of Jaffrey was sentenced to 3 1/2 to seven years in N.H. State Prison, all suspended for five years, pending good behavior. Facteau is on probation for three years.
