SendThisFile, a provider of secure file transfers, recently announced EU Safe Harbor certification for its SaaS platform recognizing compliance with the EU Safe Harbor Framework for data privacy.
"SendThisFile's EU Safe Harbor certification demonstrates our global commitment to security and privacy," said John Stephens, SendThisFile VP of Operations. "Many of our customers have international operations, and must transfer data from locations within the EU. Our successful EU Safe Harbor certification provides clients further assurance that we closely adhere to both US and European privacy practices."
According to a release, the US Department of Commerce developed the Safe Harbor framework in consultation with the EU to address differences between US and EU privacy law, and seeks to prevent accidental information disclosure of customer data.
"Secure and reliable data communications are critical to our customers operations," said Scott Sexton, SendThisFile VP of Technology. "EU Safe Harbor compliance gives peace of mind to customers in twenty eight European countries who rely on SendThisFile to keep their file transfers secure and private."
The recent certification adds to the company's significant list of regulatory compliance, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE16), and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS 140- 2).
