The Woodmen Tower, which serves as the headquarters for Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society, has been known as home for many peregrine falcons since 1988. The current resident falcons are known as Zeus and Hera. Zeus, the male falcon, arrived in Omaha in 1996 and since that time has produced more than 55 young with three different females – Winnie, Amelia and Hera. Hera arrived in 2006 and is responsible for producing and raising 24 young falcons. With the live camera adjacent to the nest, visitors can become part of the family as they watch the happy couple lay eggs, await the arrival of their new chicks and care for their young each year.
