National Ethics Bureau honors Raymond J. Ohlson, CLU, President/CEO of The Ohlson Group with Eye on Ethics Award

April 27, 2006
SAN DIEGO, CA, (April 27, 2006) The National Ethics Bureau announces that it is recognizing Raymond J. Ohlson, CLU, President and CEO of The Ohlson Group, Inc., with its 2006 Eye on Ethics Award. The award recognizes individuals and firms "whose policies, deeds, and words build consumer confidence in the financial services industry."
"Ray Ohlson has - and is - doing his part to promote ethics and integrity in financial services," says National Ethics Bureau Chairman and Co-Founder Steve R. McCarty. "He believes in not just doing things right, but doing the right things."
At Ohlson’s national insurance marketing organization, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, he encourages financial advisors to build their practices on a SCIP® foundation. SCIP® stands for Service, Credibility, Integrity, and Profitability. "These four elements must be present for all participants in a financial transaction," says Ohlson. "This includes the entity delivering the product, the advisor offering it, and the consumer buying it."
When communicating to his 550 contracted advisors, Ohlson stresses the importance of playing by the rules, never taking shortcuts, and educating rather than pressuring clients. Ethics is a frequent theme of his weekly newsletter, The Ohlson Report, and of his new book, "Until Next Time . . . Good Selling!"
"Ray Ohlson is in the ethical vanguard of our industry," says National Ethics Bureau’s McCarty. "His leadership on matters of ethics and integrity are literally transforming our business."
