Munich Health North America Introduces Additions to Its Senior Actuarial Underwriting Team [Professional Services Close – Up]

Munich Health North America (MHNA) has announced that Patrick Shannon, FSA, MAAA, will join the organization as Head of Pricing Actuaries for the Reinsurance Division.

"Pat is a well-known and respected member of our industry," said Donna Peterson, President & CEO of MHNA. "We welcome him and will be pleased to offer the benefits of his deep industry knowledge and expertise to our clients and business partners."

According to a release, Shannon has over 25 years of experience working in a variety of senior actuarial positions for CV Starr, Towers Perrin, Cigna Group Insurance and Cigna Re.

MHNA also announced the addition of Bradley Anderson, ASA, MAAA, as Head of Pricing Actuaries for its Managed Care Division. "Brad is a strong addition to our team, and has a level of experience that will allow him to make important contributions immediately," said Dave Sipprell, President of Munich Health North America - Managed Care. Anderson is a senior health actuary with almost 30 years of industry experience in group insurance and managed care issues. His core focus has been in commercial products (large group, small group, and individual), Medicaid, employer stop loss and managed care stop loss products. He will report to Sipprell.

Both Shannon and Anderson will start their new positions July 22, and both will work closely with MHNA's Chief Actuary, Nicholas Potenza, FSA, MAAA. "Munich Re is known for its strong technical talent," said Potenza. "These additions, joining Mark McCarville, Head of Pricing Actuaries for Munich Re Stop Loss, solidify our commitment to providing the best technical expertise in the health reinsurance industry."
