Meemic Insurance Services Now Available to Wisconsin Educators

PR Newswire Association LLC

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Meemic Insurance Company, a Michigan-based insurance provider offering personal auto, homeowners, and umbrella coverages tailored exclusively to teachers and other educational employees, announced today that the company will immediately begin offering insurance services to Wisconsin educational employees.

Meemic Insurance Company has been offering the Michigan educational community protection, products and services at preferred rates for more than 62 years. During that time the company has earned a reputation of excellence and distinction. Meemic is rated "A" (Excellent) by A.M. Best for financial strength and claims-paying ability. Founded by educators as an insurance company to serve fellow educators, Meemic strives to partner with members of the educational community including public, charter and parochial K-12 school systems as well as higher education institutions to provide products, programs and assistance to recognize and foster educational excellence.

"For more than six decades Meemic Insurance has been offering Michigan educators superior insurance coverage and service to effectively protect the well-being, property and possessions of those who work in Michigan's educational community," said Jack Cantwell, Assistant Vice President for Meemic Insurance Company.  "We are excited about the opportunity to offer Wisconsin educators those same protections, along with the peace of mind that comes from working with an insurance company that understands and specializes in serving their unique needs - exclusively."

Because Meemic Insurance is only available to the educational community, the company is able to offer exclusive savings of up to 35%.  Meemic also offers additional savings to members of educational associations including Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC), Wisconsin Council of Religious & Independent Schools (WCRIS), Wisconsin Charter Schools Association (WCSA), Wisconsin Retired Educators' Association (WREA), National Education Association (NEA), and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).  Insurance benefits provided are specific to educators and include a low $25 deductible for covered Comprehensive losses to a vehicle on school property, and special liability coverage for transporting students to and from school events – and more.

Because the company is focused on a specific community where educator referrals are common, providing a superior customer experience is a primary focus for Meemic.  In recent surveys, the company earned a 97% customer satisfaction rating for its claims service. As a result of service differentiation and excellence, last year over 58% of new members were referred to Meemic by other satisfied educators.

"Meemic Insurance Company is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of its members and delivering superior value at every opportunity," said Mr. Cantwell.  "For us, success is measured by the support and advocacy that we receive from our members, which is only possible if they are totally satisfied with their experience with Meemic."

Despite their exclusive focus on the education community, Meemic does not charge membership fees or dues.  If you're an educator or on the staff at a public, charter, private or parochial school, or at a college or university, you can qualify for the exclusive savings offered by Meemic.

In addition to offering insurance services, Meemic also supports the educational community through The Meemic Foundation. The Meemic Foundation for the Future of Education, a non-profit organization created in 1992 by Meemic Insurance Company, offers financial assistance to schools and educators in the form of grants. As resources for education continue to dwindle, The Meemic Foundation offers the educational community an additional opportunity to receive financial support for outstanding enrichment programs that help advance the future of education.  Since its inception, The Meemic Foundation has impacted over 1.5 million students.  Currently, the Foundation is accepting book grant applications. Wisconsin educational community members interested in grant opportunities can visit www.MeemicFoundation.com for more information.
