Lancaster Insurance Announce New Motorhome and RV Scheme for Enthusiasts

The well-known classic car insurance arranger Lancaster Insurance is now opening its doors to the motorhome and RV insurance market. After nearly 30 years of offering insurance to the classic and vintage car owners across the UK they felt it was time to expand their offering to other niche enthusiasts. Although they have always been able to cover classic campervan’ s they have only recently decided to move into the more modern vehicles in the market hoping to provide customers with a better choice.

They have chosen to announce this now as the weather is improving and more people are looking to get out on the roads for a more affordable family holiday in the UK.

Craig Oxbrow, underwriting manager at Lancaster Insurance Services, commented, “We have worked closely with the motorhome and camper markets and communities to ensure that we’re providing relevant cover to suit the needs of our new customers. We believe our offering will provide motorhome and camper owners with further choice at a time when finding the most relevant and cost-effective cover is of great importance to customers.”

They will be offering two schemes, called 'standard' and 'exclusive'. The 'exclusive' includes the following benefits:

   •      Windscreen cover up to £2000 with £100 excess where the replacement is completed by an authorised repairer
   •     180 days EU policy cover (with annual option available at additional charge)
   •     Personal effects cover up to £6000, camping equipment up to £500, awnings and gas bottle cover up to £2500. Single article limit of £500.
   •     Audio cover up to £1000
   •     Luggage trailers covered up to £250
   •     Replacement locks (for the insured vehicle only) up to £1000
   •     New for old option on a vehicle extended to two years, providing it’s only had one owner and less than 12,000 miles since bought new
   •     LIS agreed valuation facility available on vehicles 20+ years old.
