KVO Capital Management Names Brooke S. Parish, Formerly with York Capital Management, President and CEO

NEW YORK, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KVO Capital Management, an alternative investment firm founded in 2008, announced today that Brooke S. Parish, formerly with York Capital Management, has joined the firm as President and Chief Executive Officer. The firm also announced that it will be changing its name to Oakum Bay Capital, LLC as part of a strategic initiative to expand the firm's investment capabilities and capital base.

Parish, a nine-year veteran of York Capital, will report to Kernan "Kip" Oberting, the firm's founder and chairman.  Oakum Bay also announced that the firm will relocate its headquarters to New York City from Hanover, New Hampshire.

"I have known Brooke for more than 20 years, and he is an outstanding executive that can build out our investment team's expertise and expand our capital base.  Our investors will definitely benefit from his knowledge and experience," Oberting said.

Parish, who will become a partner and shareholder of Oakum Bay, was a partner at York Capital, where he most recently led the Client Advisory group that was responsible for marketing and client services for the $15 billion global investment firm.

Oberting founded KVO Capital in May 2008 and launched an offshore version of the fund in 2010.  Before he set up KVO, Oberting was executive vice president and CFO of Montpelier Re Holdings, a publicly-traded reinsurance company, and oversaw a $2.5 billion reinsurance portfolio.  He previously spent 10 years at White Mountains Insurance Group in Hanover, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions.
