John Tholen Joins Great American Insurance Group as Vice President

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Great American Insurance Group is pleased to announce the hiring of John W. Tholen as Vice President of Reinsurance. Mr. Tholen will lead the reinsurance function for Great American’s Property & Casualty operations. His responsibilities include a broad array of activities, including purchasing corporate catastrophe covers, reinsurance security, portfolio level catastrophe modeling and all accounting requirements under the Company’s reinsurance agreements.

Prior to joining Great American, Mr. Tholen was the Director of Reinsurance Placement for Markel Corporation and Vice President of Financial Analysis and Structured Risk Underwriting at Munich Reinsurance America.

Mr. Tholen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
