Insurance Zebra Lands Former Bankrate Executive Imad Ahmed, Rounds out Executive Management Team in Preparation for National Launch

Insurance Zebra, the real-time insurance comparison platform, today announced the hire of Imad Ahmed as VP of Business Development. This addition marks Insurance Zebra’s third executive hire as it surpasses 50 insurance companies compared within its platform and prepares to launch nationally.

Imad Ahmed joins Insurance Zebra from his former role as VP of Sales for CreditCards.com, Bankrate’s credit card division. At Bankrate, Ahmed was responsible for card-issuer relationships, and revenue development. He created and oversaw the development of Bankrate's patent-pending CardMatch™ product, which has provided millions of consumers with a personalized list of credit card offers to compare. Working from Insurance Zebra’s headquarters in Austin, TX, Ahmed will oversee Insurance Zebra’s traffic acquisition, traffic monetization, strategic partnerships, and integrations with major insurance carriers. “Consumers seek personalized online comparison engines for all major transactions, whether it's homes, cars or financial services. The insurance industry is one of the few remaining spaces missing such a model, and I believe Insurance Zebra has the right ingredients to fill that void," said Ahmed.

Insurance Zebra’s other founding executive team members include Joshua Dziabiak (COO), former founder and CEO of event ticketing platform ShowClix, and Meetesh Karia (VP of Engineering), former CTO of venture-accelerator Thinktiv. Both Dziabiak and Karia joined Insurance Zebra at the beginning of the year. “It’s rare to have such a special group of executives with relevant experience all sharing the same vision.” explained Adam Lyons, Founder and CEO of Insurance Zebra.

The company launched its car insurance comparison platform in Texas and California earlier this month and has since surpassed 600,000 quotes delivered. “The reaction that we received from consumers and industry professionals was both overwhelming and inspiring…” said Lyons. “The last missing piece prior to our national launch was filled with the addition of Imad Ahmed, and now we’re ready to help U.S. consumers in a big way.” Insurance Zebra plans to launch in all 50 states and DC within the coming weeks.
