ICICI Lombard Now Provides International Travel Insurance on Smart Phones [Travel & Leisure Close – Up]

ICICI Lombard General Insurance, a private sector general insurance company, announced that it now offers its customers the convenience of purchasing International travel insurance through its free mobile application 'Insure'.

According to a release, apart from purchasing a policy, customers can obtain details of existing policies as well as track the status of their claim. In another development, the 'Insure' app is now also available on Android platform apart from iOS operated iphones.

The growth of Indians traveling abroad for leisure/business trips as well as the rise of smart phone usage clearly indicates the rising demands of customers to have instant access to buying and renewing insurance products at crucial junctures. The extension of the Insure app to provide services in the International travel insurance space is a step towards enhancing the service offerings for ICICI Lombard's Travel Insurance customers.

Speaking on the occasion of launching the mobile offering, Ram Medury, VP - Technology, ICICI Lombard General Insurance said, "International Travel consumers tend to be highly tech savvy and need service offerings on the go with immediate transactional capabilities. Keeping this in mind, we have developed an in-house app 'Insure' that will cater to the needs of our customers availing International Travel Insurance."

The company noted that 'Insure' app also allows ICICI Lombard's Motor Insurance customers to purchase/renew their motor insurance policies. It also allows tracking of claim, finding the location of the nearest network hospital or garage using geo-tagging features embedded in the app.
