Georgia Southern University Forensic Accounting Program Hosts 11th Annual Lecture Series

STATESBORO, Ga., March 5 -- Georgia Southern University issued the following news release:

Georgia Southern University'sCenter for Forensic Studies in Accounting and Business will host its 11th Annual Forensic Accounting Lecture Series on March 11 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), 847 Plant Dr. This year's address will be presented by Jason Moran, special agent in charge for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of Inspector General.

The Forensic Accounting Lecture Series supports the Fraud Examination and the Forensic Accounting programs in the College of Business Administration'sSchool of Accountancy. Anyone interested in pursuing a career in fraud examination and forensic accounting should attend. These programs integrate the accounting, auditing and investigative skills used to yield analyses and results suitable for use by the courts as the basis for resolution, and they focus on providing students with intensive fraud prevention and detection training.

Jason Moran has more than 22 years of experience investigating many types of white collar crimes. He started his career as an auditor with the United States Department of Interior in Washington, D.C., and later worked with the United States Department of Education in Atlanta, Ga. Moran grew up in coastal Georgia and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Georgia Southern and a Master of Science in administration from Central Michigan University. He currently resides in metro Atlanta with his wife, Chanda, and their two children. Moran is a member of the Forensic Accounting Advisory Board.
