Alyn Ackermann
CHICAGO
CNA has renamed its excess and surplus business CNA Select Risk and appointed John Angerami as senior vice president to run the operation, the company said.
CNA Select Risk will include excess and surplus business and wholesale property accounts, the company said in a statement.
"Now we will focus on growing our four areas - casualty, programs, transportation and property - as well as expanding our underwriting appetite and identifying new industry specializations to better meet the E&S needs of our customers," Angerami said in the statement.
Angerami was at Chubb Corp. for 31 years, most recently serving as president of Chubb's E&S business and establishing a national brand and presence for its wholesale operation, CNA said.
CNA's chairman, president and chief executive, Thomas F. Motamed, was Chubb's vice chairman and chief operating officer before leaving to head CNA (BestWire, May 23, 2008).
CNA Insurance Cos. currently has a Best's Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent).
