Stephen Kline Named Legal Counsel

Peter Koch Named Medical Network Provider Consultant

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- EK Health Services, Inc. announced the hiring of Stephen L. Kline as Legal Counsel and Peter A. Koch as Medical Network Provider Consultant.

Stephen Kline has extensive experience in workers’ compensation law and oversees EK Health’s contracts, litigation prevention and risk management. He is responsible for keeping the EK Health staff current on workers’ compensation laws and regulations nationwide.

Formerly with Armstrong Law Firm of San Jose, Kline has 25 years’ experience as a fulltime attorney, focusing on workers' compensation defense litigation for the past nine years. He served on San Jose Workers' Compensation Bench Bar Committee and is vice president of South Bay Industrial Claims Association.

Kline earned a law degree at Pepperdine University School of Law following a bachelor’s degree from Illinois’ Shimer College. He received a Conflict Resolution Training Certificate from California State University Humboldt.

Peter Koch is responsible for building EK Health's Medical Provider Networks (MPN) for Workers' Compensation. With extensive managed care contracting experience, Koch will help EK Health expand its service lines by establishing a footprint in California for developing and implementing MPNs for key employers.

His 20-year experience leading network development and operations teams for healthcare enterprises includes developing custom physician and hospital networks for national employers.

Koch was regional vice president of network development for Viant Health Payment Solutions, Lake Forest, CA, where he had responsibility for the Western and South Central United States. He was an executive with Multiplan, Inc., Irvine, CA, where he developed PPO networks throughout the Western United States.

Koch earned an MBA from University of Phoenix, receiving his BA degree in health science from California State University. He is a member of the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations.
