Chaucer Holdings plc said it has established an international liability division within Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
The London market specialist insurer said the new division will specialize in international professional and general liability and related classes.
Mark Lawrence was recruited by Chaucer to head the new division. He will report to John Fowle, active underwriter of Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
"Lawrence is an acknowledged market leader for international liability business and will join Chaucer ahead of the division's formal launch in the final quarter of 2010," the insurer said.
