CSC Signs Four New Clients for RISKMASTER Claims and Risk Management Software

CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced that four organizations representing a wide range of businesses, from underwriting services to self-insured companies and county government, have selected CSC's RISKMASTER to integrate and streamline their liability and workers compensation claims administration and risk management processes (see also CSC).

Two of the organizations also licensed RISKMASTER's Business Analytics component to gain insights into their risk and claims data that will enable them to capitalize on business opportunities and mitigate losses. The CSC clients are Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corporation of Atlanta, Ga.; James River Coal Company, which operates in the Central Appalachian and Illinois coal basin; St. Louis County of Minnesota; and Schnuck Markets, Inc., of St. Louis, Mo.

Uni-Ter, a managing general underwriter and insurance services firm, licensed RISKMASTER X, the latest version of the integrated browser-based system, along with Business Analytics. Uni-Ter will consolidate its multiple existing systems onto RISKMASTER in order to reduce operational costs while improving efficiency.

"After careful evaluation of many software systems, we selected RISKMASTER because it will allow us to keep pace with evolving technologies and grow our business substantially with a minimal increase in staff," said Donna Dalton, chief operating officer at Uni-Ter Underwriting. "The integration between all facets of our business will improve continuity and structure within our organization."

James River Coal, which mines, processes and sells bituminous, steam and industrial-grade coal, selected RISKMASTER X along with Business Analytics to replace an existing system that did not meet the needs of a self-administered claims operation. James River will use RISKMASTER to administer its workers compensation claims and reporting.

St. Louis County of Minnesota licensed RISKMASTER for administration of workers compensation claims. The County will leverage the system to better integrate its claims and safety groups while replacing a homegrown system that was not compliant with current reporting requirements for the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA).

Schnucks is replacing an older Windows-based system with RISKMASTER to provide better integration of functions, automate its mostly manual processes and comply with MMSEA standards. The regional grocery and pharmacy retailer will employ RISKMASTER for complete administration of all types of claims.

"In today's challenging business environment, CSC's clients like these need to improve their operational efficiency while gaining a more holistic view of their operations in order to quickly adapt to changing market conditions, seize new opportunities and minimize risks," said Ray August, president of CSC's Financial Services Group. "RISKMASTER helps them do this by integrating more functions on a single platform than any other risk and claims package and providing powerful, flexible tools that make it easier to better understand and manage risk."

CSC's RISKMASTER software offers complete liability and workers compensation claims management, from first notice of loss to final disposition, along with a flexible risk management information system. Today, the browser-based system supports more than 15,000 users and can be installed at a client site or hosted by CSC. RISKMASTER Business Analytics, a part of CSC's Insurance Optics family of business intelligence solutions, combines ad hoc reporting, interactive visual analytics, scheduling and distribution to give organizations the knowledge and insight needed to improve their business. RISKMASTER Business Analytics lets users access, analyze and share information with an easy drag-and-drop reporting tool.
