Atlanta

CFA's Atlanta Chapter held Its Atlanta Braves vs. the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Outing on May 7 Pre-game festivities began 5:30 p.m. with food, drinks and snacks and "Braves Bucks".

The Chapter, in conjunction with this event, sponsored "CURE Childhood Cancer," by providing 40 tickets to children stricken with cancer. The children and their families received tickets through Scottish Rite and Egleston Children's Hospitals. Proceeds from a raffle that will be held the night of the game will go to further support CURE.

California

On March 26, the Chapter held a Young Professionals reception and networking nightatTenTen Wilshire in Los Angeles. On April 2, the Chapter held "Trends in the Debt and Equity Markets" at The Jonathan Club in Los Angeles. Panelists included Angel Island Capital'sRob Stobo, Crystal Financial's Stephen Krawchuck; Marlin Equity Partners'Peter Spasov; Odyssey Investment Partners'Brian Zaumeyerand Tennenbaum Capital Partners'David Adler. Neil Wessan from CIT Capital Markets moderated. The Chapter hosted "Forensic Auditing", by Jeff Brandlin of Brandlin & Associates

Auditing Group on April 4 at Buchalter Nemer in Los Angeles. The event was tailored for those interested in improving knowledge of how to identify fraudulent activity in its early stages.

Whether due to tight credit conditions, a full-blown recession or simply greedy people, the potential for fraud always exists. Brandlin, a forensic accounting specialist, spends a lot of time detecting, quantifying, and documenting the dynamics of fraud, as well as assisting in pursuing recoveries. He has been providing investigative accounting, financial consulting, and strategic consulting services nationwide for the last 30 years.

The Chapter's Annual BBQ will be held at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City, CA on July 9, and the Dual Lenders Panel will be held at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Los Angeles on September 10. Save the date for the Chapter's Annual Fall Golf Classic at Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills, CA on October 9.

Charlotte

CFA's Charlotte Chapter held "No Limits with Jerry Orr" on March 25. The event featured networking and a family-style luncheon at the Palm Restaurant in Charlotte, NC.

On May 21, 2014, the Chapter will host a night of networking and fun foryoung professionals at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte to see the Charlotte Knights take on the Norfolk Tides.

Florida

CFA's Florida Chapter and the Risk Management Association held a joint luncheon on April 16 at the Lauderdale Yacht Club in Ft. Lauderdale, featuring a panel presentation on the state of the South Florida commercial real estate market led by Kirk Nelson of CB Richard Ellis.
