BRIEF: Janesville woman arrested for OWI after crash with children in car

Oct. 01--A Janesville woman was arrested in Oregon Sunday night after authorities said she drove drunk with two young children in her car and got into a crash.

Torrie L. Carlson, 29, was charged in Dane County Circuit Court Tuesday with second-offense drunken driving, with an enhancer for having minors in the car.

According to a criminal complaint, Carlson was driving north on the 200 block of Union Street in Oregon around 8 p.m. when she crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck.

Authorities said two children, both under 10 years old, were passengers in Carlson's car.

Online court records show Carlson was also cited for driving without insurance, speeding, driving left of the center line and refusing to take a test for intoxication after arrest.

The criminal complaint does not mention any injuries as a result of the crash, and Carlson was not charged with intoxicated driving causing injury.
