BRIEF: Erie Insurance parking garage now available for arena events

Nov. 15--Erie Insurance Group's new 1,000-space parking garage is now available as supplemental parking for events at Erie Insurance Arena.

Casey Wells, executive director of the Erie County Convention Center Authority, said the garage will be open and available for tonight's Erie Otters game against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

The six-level parking ramp is between East Seventh and East Eighth streets and French and Holland streets, fronting East Eighth Street.

"It will be available for arena events going forward," Wells said. "We're thrilled to have the cooperation of Erie Insurance."

Wells said cash-only parking at the garage is $5, and the parking deck will open 90 minutes before arena events. The ramp will be staffed with uniformed security guards.

Anyone parking at the garage must remove their vehicles within one hour of the conclusion of arena events or the vehicle could be towed.
