BRIEF: Cranesville couple waive theft charges to trial [Erie Times-News, Pa.]

April 10--A Cranesville couple accused of stealing money while working for a national bail bonds company has waived criminal charges filed against them in two cases over to trial.

David Wasmund, 48, and Michelle Wasmund, 44, waived their preliminary hearings on charges in the alleged theft of $22,500 from an Illinois woman who gave them money to post bond for another person in September 2011; and their hearings on charges in the alleged theft of more than $42,000 in premium payments that should have been paid to the company they worked for, Cutting Edge Bail Bonds, for disbursement to insurance companies, according to Erie police.

Prosecutors withdrew counts of insurance fraud that police filed against David Wasmund in each of the two cases.

The Wasmunds are free on bond.
