Analysis Group Appoints Adam Decter as Managing Principal [Manufacturing Close – Up]

Analysis Group, a provider of economic, health care, financial, and business expertise to law firms, corporations, and government agencies, announced the promotion of Adam Decter to Managing Principal.

Decter specializes in the application of microeconomics, finance, and data analysis to complex securities and antitrust litigation and business strategy cases, most notably in matters related to residential mortgage-backed securities, collateralized debt obligations and credit default swaps, residential mortgage lending, mortgage reinsurance, commercial insurance, private equity, and payment cards.

"Since joining the Boston office in 2002, he has worked on a number of the firm's largest matters, bringing to bear his considerable skills in class certification issues and damages analyses for a wide range of clients."

Decter has expanded his work by supporting multiple experts in the areas of statistical sampling, loan and securities underwriting, damages, and loss causation, among others. His business litigation experience focuses on finance matters in which he has managed large case teams and data sets in working with testifying experts. He supported academic affiliates in their examination of class certification issues related to commonality, predominance, and causation in In re Countrywide Financial Corp. Mortgage Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation, a mortgage marketing matter in which the plaintiff's motion for class certification was denied. Decter also supported an expert in filing a report on behalf of the defendants in New Jersey Carpenters Vacation Fund et al. v. The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc et al., a case that marked the first major ruling on class certification among the numerous mortgage-backed securities actions pending in courts across the country at the time. He has also conducted damages analyses and worked with experts in numerous securities, antitrust, and intellectual property cases. Decter's business strategy engagements related to strategic pricing, portfolio management, and economic cost studies have spanned multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, information technology, and manufacturing.

Prior to joining Analysis Group, Decter was a management consultant in the telecommunications industry. He also has several years of telecommunications industry in strategic planning, business development, and product management.
