Ameritas Selects CollabNet TeamForge as Its Agile ALM Platform

CollabNet, a provider of cloud-based Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions for agile software delivery at scale, announced Ameritas selected its TeamForge ALM platform to consolidate, manage and host all of its source code management (SCM) using Apache Subversion.

According to a release, subversion becomes the leading open source version control system for Ameritas.

Previously, Ameritas used multiple source code management tools, ultimately choosing TeamForge as its cloud-based single platform to promote collaboration and efficiency among developers. Plus, the platform complies with security and governance standards required by the insurance and financial services industry.

"With TeamForge, Ameritas can quickly consolidate multiple tools onto Subversion and establish the foundation for future ALM expansion and automation of requirements management, tracker work flow, testing and continuous integration and deployment," said Matt Speelman, director of information technology for Ameritas. "CollabNet's open ALM platform and expert Agile training services will allow us to design, develop and deploy software applications faster, more efficiently and at a lower cost than ever before."

Like many companies, its IT organization is transitioning from legacy software tools to more extendible and social platforms that help deliver quality software faster to customers and internal IT users. Ameritas is implementing TeamForge to consolidate its SCM tools onto Subversion, allowing developers to use the tools they want and giving managers the administration, governance, project management and code review/search capabilities that will lower costs and deliver tangible return-on-investment. In the future, Ameritas plans to extend its use of TeamForge beyond enterprise SCM and into ALM.
