Align General Insurance Hires Former President of Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies

Former Berkshire Hathaway executive, Rod Eldred, will expand company’s underwriting activities in specialty commercial auto insurance and lead Align into Worker’s Compensation marketplace

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Align^TMGeneral Insurance Agency, Inc. (Align) today announced that Rod Eldred has joined the Company as Senior Vice President to lead the company’s newly established Workers Compensation Division and the expansion of Align’s commercial automobile underwriting activities. From 1990 until 2009, Mr. Eldred was President of the Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, the regional specialty lines businesses of billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Group. During that time, the Homestate Companies wrote as much as $800 million in worker’s compensation and commercial auto premiums annually.
