NEW YORK -- AIG has named former Airbus executive Henri Courpron as president and chief executive of its aircraft leasing division.
The 47-year-old Courpron takes over as head of AIG's International Lease Finance Corp. from Alan Lund who has served as interim CEO since March.
Courpron had been president of Seabury Group, an advisory and investment banking firm specializing in aviation and aerospace. He previously was an executive at Airbus.
The insurer American International Group Inc. is trying to recover after a near collapse in late 2008. It received a government bailout worth more than $180 billion. It has been selling assets and streamlining businesses in an effort to repay the loans.
AIG recently agreed to sell some of the aircraft owned by ILFC as part of its restructuring.
