20th Annual Senior All Star Football Classic announces rosters [El Paso Times, Texas]

Nov. 20--The Greater El Paso Football Showcase has announced the rosters for the 20th Annual Senior All Star Football Classic.

Ninety-two players were selected to participate on either the East or West squad.

Mike Jackson will coach the West team. Jackson is a former All Star defensive coordinator and head football coach at Mountain View High. This is his third year as the West coach.

Phil Hatch will coach the East team. Hatch is a current athletic administrator, former high school principal and former coach at Jefferson and Bowie. He has coached the East team for 13 years.

The game will be held Dec. 17 at the Sun Bowl. Kickoff is at 1:05 p.m. with pregame festivites to begin at 12:35 p.m. Tickets go on sale Nov. 28 at all area high schools, First National Bank and Nationwide Insurance locations.

Alumni of the game will also be honored.

The classic will be preceeded by the first annual El Paso Senior Combine on Dec. 16 at the Socorro Student Activities Complex. The newest addition will have several college scouts attending in hopes of getting more El Paso high school athletes college scholarships.

In the game's 20 years, 530 El Paso graduating seniors have been awarded $403,500.
