5-year-old injured when hit by car at crosswalk [Telegraph-Herald (Dubuque, IA)]

A 5-year-old boy was injured Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle in the crosswalk at the intersection of Hill and West Fifth streets.

Marquis Washington, of 554 W. Eighth St., was treated and released at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque after complaining of leg pain.

According to Dubuque police records, Rebecca A. Cornwell, 28, of 517 Almond St., was southbound on Hill Street at around 3:13 p.m., approaching the crosswalk west of the intersection, when she hit Washington. Police said witnesses offered varying accounts of the accident and no consensus could be reached as to who was at fault.

Police cited Cornwell for not having insurance.
