Nov. 27--An insurance agent accused of stealing from clients was indicted on charges of theft and insurance fraud.
The Richmond County grand jury handed down an indictment Nov. 20 against Tammy Self, 39, of the 3000 block of Creek View Court.
According to the indictment, Self, a licensed insurance agent for 10 years, is accused of keeping a businessman's payment for worker's compensation insurance and preparing fraudulent insurance documents. She faces a second theft charge involving taking a woman's payment for property insurance.
At the time of the alleged crimes which began in July 2008, Self worked for the Kilpatrick Insurance Agency.
