A rule allowing medical workers to decline performing abortions or other treatments on moral or religious grounds is on hold by mutual agreement pending a legal challenge. The so-called “conscience” rule is being challenged in a California court. A judge approved the four month delay of the rule, which was supposed to take effect on July 22. Jun. 30– Hahnemann University Hospital said Saturday that it would no longer admit trauma patients, such as those suffering heart attacks, to its emergency room.
