Keystone Insurers Group welcomes Critchell-Miller & Petrus as 15th Illinois partner

NORTHUMBERLAND, Pa. (June 18, 2014) – Keystone Insurers Group welcomes its 15th franchise partner in Illinois: Critchell-Miller & Petrus. The announcement was made today by Critchell-Miller & Petrus President Dallas L. Peters and Keystone Vice President of Sales and Marketing Elizabeth Schenk.

“Our affiliation with Keystone gives us the benefits of aggregation, yet allows us to continue to control our own destiny and retain our culture as an organization,” Peters remarked. “Keystone’s resources in human capital, agency operational support and specialty program expertise will unquestionably benefit our firm. Most importantly, the Keystone relationship will allow us to better serve the friends and customers who place their trust in us as insurance advisors.”

“When I first met the partners at Critchell-Miller & Petrus, I knew they were a perfect fit for Keystone; great people, a solid reputation and a strong agency,” Schenk said. “Critchell-Miller & Petrus is the 15th partner in Illinois, following a span of rapid growth in the eight months since we launched the state.”

About Critchell-Miller & Petrus - Established by R.S. Critchell in 1868 and operating as R.S. Critchell & Co., Critchell- Miller & Petrus has over a century of experience, making them one of the oldest, continuously active, independently owned insurance organizations in the nation. The agency issued the first draft paying for property destroyed in the Great Chicago fire of 1871. In the early 1900s, they were one of the largest insurance brokerage agencies in the world. They merged with Alex J Petrus & Associates in 1999 to form Critchell-Miller & Petrus Inc. Today the agency is under the management of three partners: President Dallas L. Peters; Mark T. Petrus, Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC); and Michael J. Petrus Sr., CIC. For more information visit www.cmpins.com.

About Keystone Insurers Group (KIG) – Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Northumberland, Pa., KIG is owned by its franchise partners and employees in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana and Ohio.
