Jan. 30--Wilson insurance agent Alan Winstead of Farm Bureau Insurance has earned an award from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for helping 20 or more consumers enroll in Affordable Care Act health plans during the 2020 open enrollment period.
Winstead received the Marketplace Circle of Champions designation from CMS' Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight.
"Agents and brokers continue to play a vital role in helping Americans access health coverage -- assisting over 43% of all enrollments through the federally facilitated Exchange last year. That amounts to some 3.6 million Americans," CMS Deputy Administrator Randy Pate wrote in a letter congratulating insurance professionals who achieved the distinction.
Pate thanked Winstead and fellow Circle of Champions members "for the impact you are having on your communities by helping Americans get access to quality health coverage."
Winstead was also named to the Circle of Champions in 2018 and achieved the Marketplace Elite Circle of Champions designation in 2019.
