Waterbury police arrested a 29-year-old man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run last Tuesday.
Christopher Luna, 29, was charged with evading responsibility resulting in death, tampering with physical evidence, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance and failure to drive in the proper lane.
The hit-and-run took place near 900 Meriden Road around 11 p.m. It killed 49-year-old Shane Dube and seriously injured Nicole Sarandrea, 35, who were walking alongside the road’s shoulder, investigators said.
Police were able to identify the car through several pieces of debris, video footage and tips from residents. They found the car unoccupied on Irion Street Friday.
Luna turned himself in around 8 a.m. Monday, police said. He’s held on $250,000 bond.
