Was your home damaged by Harvey? You can now apply for more help
Victoria Advocate (TX)
Nov. 28--Homeowners can now apply for assistance to rebuild houses damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
Tuesday, the state started accepting applications from residents who still need help rebuilding.
Under the program, the state will pay to repair homes that were damaged by the hurricane and are homeowners' primary residences.
This program is designed to help homeowners who didn't get the help they needed from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or insurance.
People can apply online by visiting recovery.texas.gov and then clicking on the area where they live.
In Victoria, people can also visit the state's regional office at 2208 Leary Lane or call 361-485-0000. Before you apply, be sure to gather all of your documents, including a valid photo ID, household income information, proof of homeownership, proof of primary residence and information showing how much disaster assistance you received.
