Voya’s Individual Life Business Enters Strategic Partnership With Lion Street

PR Newswire

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that its Individual Life business has entered into a strategic partnership with Lion Street, Inc. (Lion Street), a financial services distribution company owned by more than 100 independent Owner-Firms. Through this new arrangement with Voya's network of aligned distribution partners, Lion Street Owner-Firms will have the opportunity to build their business by collaborating with Voya to communicate the importance of life insurance to their clients.

"Lion Street Owner-Firms put significant trust in their leadership team and board of directors to evaluate and select life insurance companies that will provide the best combination of value and performance for their important personal and corporate clients," said Lion Street founder and CEO Bob Carter. "Our process of selecting Voya to become a partnership carrier for our 115 Lion Street Owner-Firms was rigorous. The company's vision, leadership and commitment to apply unique resources to our Advisor-Owners made this decision a clear one."

Lion Street is owned by independent financial advisors who specialize in financial solutions for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, business owners, and corporate clients. Lion Street's board of directors credited Voya Financial's strong financial performance and recent upgrades from major ratings agencies as key drivers for the decision, in addition to a mutual focus on the accumulation marketplace.

"In 2015, our Individual Life business implemented a refined vision and strategy that emphasizes stronger relationships, personal attention and dedicated resources for distribution partners that share our passion for helping Americans achieve their financial goals," said Individual Life President David Wilken. "Our distribution partnership with Lion Street reinforces our support of this strategy as well as Voya's broader commitment to helping Americans plan, invest and protect their savings so they can retire better."

As aligned distribution partners, Lion Street Owner-Firms will have access to a variety of educational tools and services including Voya Life Journey — an online, mobile selling system — and the company's interactive, long-term IMPACT service to help manage customer expectations and results for select indexed universal life products.

Voya Financial's Individual Life business is dedicated to helping Americans become financially and emotionally ready for retirement by providing its customers and clients with quality asset accumulation, protection, and distribution products and services.

As an industry leader and advocate for greater retirement readiness, Voya Financial is committed to delivering on its vision to be America's Retirement CompanyTM and its mission to make a secure financial future possible — one person, one family, one institution at a time.
