According to the news reporters, the research concluded: “Conclusions and Relevance: In this cohort study of hospitalized patients with COVID-19, those with government-funded insurance coverage (Medicare or Medicaid) had similar outcomes compared with patients with commercial insurance, regardless of race or ethnicity. Disaggregation of race and ethnicity analysis revealed substantial outcome disparities and suggests opportunities for further study of the drivers underlying such disparities.
