UC to Host I Day for Insurance Professionals Sponsored by Local CPCU Chapter and UC’s RMI Program

UTICA, N.Y., Oct. 9 -- Utica College issued the following news release:

The 2017 Utica I Day presented by The Utica CPCU Chapter and Utica College Risk Management and Insurance Programs will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Taking place at UC's Carbone Family Auditorium located inside the Economic Crime, Justice Studies, and Cybersecurity building, I Day will begin at 9 a.m. and last until approximately 1:15 p.m. Registration for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m.

I Day will consist of an agents' panel, keynote address, student panel, and a presentation of UC's MBA program. This year's keynote speaker is Charlie Kingdollar, senior emerging risk analyst for General Reinsurance Corporation (GenRe). He will be talking about emerging issues in the insurance industry.

Kingdollar is a vice president and the leading expert in GenRe's emerging exposures unit contained in the Global Property/Casualty (P&C) Division of General Reinsurance. In his 37 years with GenRe, he is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and tracking developments that create new or changing exposures, and assessing their potential impact on the P&C insurance industry. He reports these legal, scientific, and societal developments in a variety of GenRe publications and on social media.

The agents' panel will consist of John C. Parsons, executive vice president of Parsons & Associates Inc. and president of PIA of New York; Kristin H. Martin, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Utica National Insurance Group; and Stephen R. Zogby, executive vice president of Scalzo, Zogby and Wittig Inc. The panel will be moderated by James Lombardo, chief operating manager of AmeriCU Services, LLC.

Steve DiMeo, president of Mohawk Valley EDGE, will discuss economic development and the insurance industry. There will also be a student panel on "When Air-supported Structures Fall: The Collapse of the Hut," by risk management and insurance seniors Christopher Halsey and Cory Simic.
