Two Senior Underwriter Appointments Boost RSA Global Risk Solutions Team

LONDON, Dec. 23 -- RSA Insurance Group issued the following news release:

Commercial insurer RSA has made two senior underwriting appointments within its global risk solutions' UK property and casualty operation.

Robert Kemp has joined RSA as property underwriting director, to head up its London-based property underwriting team and to oversee the growth and development of the UK-wide risk managed property portfolio.

Having spent his career to date working within global broking houses, Rob joins RSA following nine years at Marsh's risk management practice where he held the position of managing director and head of placement. He previously worked within the UK & Ireland property arm of Willis.

Rob said:

"I'm pleased to be joining RSA at this time having developed a keen understanding of our clients' and broker partners' insurance needs and expectations during my broking career. Through close collaboration with key brokers, our UK property underwriting team will continue to focus on providing outstanding service to clients, and demonstrating our flexible underwriting approach, alongside our claims handling capabilities and RSARed risk engineering portal."

GRS has also appointed Leigh Langton as underwriting leader, based in Chelmsford. He leads a team of underwriters and wording specialists responsible for servicing and developing risk managed property, casualty and professional lines business placed by RSA's UK regional broking partners.

Leigh has 20 years of insurance industry experience having joined RSA straight from school as an assistant underwriter. He later joined NIG as a senior P&C underwriter before returning to RSA where he was broker development manager for seven years. Leigh then joined XL Catlin as client and distribution leader, which he did for three years before accepting his newly created role at RSA.

Leigh commented:

We will be using all the products and risk management tools that RSA has available to deliver a compelling proposition to our clients and brokers."

Rob and Leigh will both report to Gary Long, director of risk managed business, UK & wholesale.
