NEW YORK (AP) _ The Travelers Cos. (TRV) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $819 million.
On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had net income of $3.44. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, came to $3.40 per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of $3.40 per share.
The insurer posted revenue of $9.64 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $9.63 billion, which topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $9.61 billion.
