As a result of this, the Board's resolution asks state leaders to take immediate emergency regulatory and legislative action to address the situation and provide relief. The resolution further asks them to work to expand coverage choices, improve the rate approval process, and take measures to assure the long-term resiliency of the marketplace.
Supervisor Rowe said, "Many of my constituents live in high-fire-risk areas where they were already faced with limited options for insurance. The state must do more to find workable solutions to address challenges that impede access, affordability, and choice. All our residents should have the ability to obtain essential insurance for protection and peace of mind."
